About

Cricketsharp is a small, independent index of hotels. It covers four categories and 11 properties, and it's meant to be read start to finish in one sitting.

The categories are narrow on purpose. Art hotels, where a collection or a craft tradition shapes the stay. Capsule hotels, where the room is small and every part of it is decided. Casino hotels, treated as hotels with a gaming floor rather than the other way round. And ice hotels, which for now means one: Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi.

How entries are written

Each hotel gets a short piece of prose. It says where the place is, what the building is or was, and why it belongs in its category. Facts that change often, such as rates, opening dates or menus, are left out. You'll get those more reliably from the hotel itself.

There are no star ratings and no scores. Guest reviews aren't collected or reprinted. The index also doesn't handle reservations: when you're ready to stay somewhere, contact the property directly.

Independence

No hotel pays for a place here, and none has seen its entry before publication. When something turns out to be wrong, we fix it. Corrections are welcome through the contact page.

Casino hotels, specifically

The four casino hotels are described for their rooms, buildings, food and shows. This site doesn't review gaming, offer odds, or link to anywhere you can gamble. Casino floors are for adults only, under the age rules of each province.
